Introduction

VoltPilot ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application VoltPilot (the "App").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

1. Location Data

We collect location data to provide our core EV charger finding and route planning services:

• Precise GPS Location: Your current location to find nearby charging stations
• Route Coordinates: Origin and destination points when you plan routes
• Search Locations: Places you search for within the app

How we use location data:

• Display EV chargers near your location
• Calculate distances to charging stations
• Plan routes between locations
• Improve search results

Location data is NOT permanently stored on our servers. It is only used during your active session and shared with third-party services as described below.

2. Analytics & Error Data

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how our app is used and improve stability. We collect:

• App Usage Events: Features you use, such as routes planned, chargers viewed, and filters applied
• Device Information: Device model, operating system version, app version
• Session Information: How long you use the app, when you use it
• Error Information: Crash reports, API errors, and service failures to improve stability (via Firebase Crashlytics)

Crashlytics collects:

• Stack traces when errors occur
• Service context (which feature failed)
• HTTP status codes (without sensitive URL parameters)
• Device state at time of error

Specific events tracked include:

• Route planning actions (charger count, distance, general location area)
• Charger interactions (views, favorites)
• Subscription events (without payment details)
• Ad interactions
• Feature usage patterns

3. Advertising Data

We display advertisements through Google AdMob. The advertising network may collect:

• Advertising Identifiers: Google Advertising ID (Android) or Identifier for Advertisers (iOS)
• Device Information: Device type, operating system
• Ad Interaction Data: Ads viewed, clicked, or watched

Personalized Advertising:

• In regions where required (EU/EEA/UK), we request your consent before showing personalized ads
• You can change your ad preferences at any time through the consent management option in the app
• If you decline personalized ads, you will still see ads, but they will be less relevant to you

4. Purchase Data

If you subscribe to VoltPilot Pro, we use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions:

• Transaction Information: Purchase date, subscription type, subscription status
• Entitlement Status: Whether your Pro subscription is active

We do NOT have access to your payment card details. All payments are processed securely through Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

5. Local Data

The following data is stored locally on your device only and is NOT transmitted to our servers:

• Favorite chargers list
• Saved routes
• App preferences (units, filters)
• Usage counters for free tier limits
• Cached AI analysis results (expires after 24 hours)

How We Share Your Information

We share your information with the following third-party service providers:

Google Services

• Google Maps Platform: Receives your location and search queries to provide maps, directions, and place search
• Google Firebase Analytics: Receives analytics data to help us understand app usage
• Google AdMob: Receives advertising identifiers and device information to serve ads
• Google Generative AI (Gemini): Receives charger review text (not your personal data) to generate charger status summaries

EV Charger Data Providers

• OpenChargeMap: Receives your location coordinates to find nearby EV chargers
• ChargeTrip (Pro users only): Receives your location to provide verified charger availability data

Purchase Management

• RevenueCat: Receives purchase transaction data and device identifiers to manage your subscription

App Stores

• Apple App Store / Google Play Store: Process your payments and manage app distribution

Your Rights and Choices

Location Access

You can disable location access at any time through your device settings. Note that this will limit the app's core functionality.

Advertising Preferences

• You can reset your advertising identifier in your device settings
• In applicable regions, you can manage ad personalization consent within the app
• You can opt out of personalized ads through your device's privacy settings

Data Deletion

Since VoltPilot does not require an account, most of your data is stored locally on your device. To delete local data:

• Uninstall the app, or
• Clear app data through your device settings

Do Not Track

Our app does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals. However, you can manage tracking preferences through your device settings and our consent management system.

Children's Privacy

VoltPilot is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our service providers (Google, RevenueCat) maintain servers. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using the App, you consent to such transfers.

Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
