Terms of Use for VoltPilot

1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the VoltPilot mobile application (the "App") and the voltpilot.app website, provided by VoltPilot ("we," "our," or "us"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

2. The Service

VoltPilot helps you find electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, plan routes, and view information about chargers. Most features are free, with daily limits on some of them. VoltPilot Pro is an optional paid subscription that removes those limits and adds extra features, as described in the App. We may add, change, or remove features, and adjust free-tier limits, at any time.

3. Estimates and Safety

  • Routes, distances, travel times, battery arrival estimates, suggested charging stops, energy costs, and CO₂ savings are estimates only. Real-world results depend on your vehicle, driving, weather, traffic, and other factors.
  • Charger locations, availability, status, connectors, and prices can be wrong or out of date. Always confirm that a charger is working and available before relying on it, and plan with a safe battery margin.
  • Do not use the App while driving. Obey all traffic laws and road signs, and use your judgment on the road.

4. AI-Generated Insights

Some charger summaries are generated automatically by artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude) from charger data and public user reviews. AI output can be incomplete, outdated, or simply wrong. It is provided for general information only and is not a guarantee about any charger.

5. Third-Party Data and Services

The App relies on third-party data and services, including OpenChargeMap, Google Maps Platform, and Chargetrip, and can open navigation apps such as Apple Maps, Google Maps, and Waze. We do not control these services and make no warranty about their accuracy or availability. Your use of them may also be subject to their own terms.

6. VoltPilot Pro Subscriptions

  • VoltPilot Pro is offered as monthly and yearly auto-renewing subscriptions. The price and period are shown in the App before you buy.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
  • Your subscription renews automatically at the same price and period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings (iOS) or in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions (Android). Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies.
  • "Unlimited" Pro features are subject to reasonable fair-use limits that protect the service from abuse.
  • You can restore an active subscription on a new device from the App's Settings or subscription screen.

7. Apple App Store Users

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If these Terms conflict with it, Apple's agreement governs to the extent required. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content and has no obligation to provide support for it.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute the App's data or AI output at scale
  • Get around free-tier limits, ads, or subscriptions, or use automated means to access the App or its servers
  • Reverse engineer, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its services

We may suspend access for anyone who breaks these rules.

9. Ads

The free version of the App shows advertisements from Google AdMob. VoltPilot Pro subscribers do not see ads.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any charger will be available or working.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on routes, estimates, charger information, or AI-generated insights, including being unable to charge your vehicle. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us for VoltPilot Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you, and nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and change the effective date. If you keep using the App after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
